Tax Manager/Senior Manager, Income Franchise (SALT)
The candidate will work with multi-state companies with state and local income tax compliance. Act as part of a multi-disciplinary team helping to provide subject matter industry knowledge and experience. Review information presented on state income and franchise tax estimated payments before, during and after preparation. Build and manage client relationships, and supervise, mentor, and develop staff. Manage risk and financial performance of engagements including billing, collections, and project budgets. Collaborate with other professionals to identify new marketplace opportunities and grow the firm's tax practice. Minimum 5 years for manager and 8 years for senior manager of recent experience with state income tax compliance for corporations, partnerships, or pass-through entities, providing technical advice on multi-state tax issues. Requires CPA, EA, JD/LL.M. in taxation, and/or Master's in Taxation (MST or MTX) or completion of an advanced degree or professional designation from an accredited college or university, or the ability to obtain within one year from start date; CMI-Sales and Use Tax (Certified Member of the Institute for Professionals in Taxation - Sales and Use Tax). Experience providing services to public companies and a solid knowledge of relevant state tax concepts. Ability to foster relationships both internally as well as with clients and desire to perform in a high-energy team environment. Experience mentoring and counseling staff level team members. Excellent writing, compliance, communication, management, and tax compliance skills.
