Assistant Dean of Development and Alumni Relations

Candidate will serve as the chief development and alumni relations officer for the School of Law. Will prepare and oversee the implementation of a comprehensive strategic plan, including metrics and goals, in order to maximize financial support to the school, develop and maintain a strong alumni base, and enhance the public image of the Law School. Will oversee fundraising and alumni relations programs for the School of Law including: Annual fund, special gifts, major gifts, alumni affairs and events, and public relations. Will be responsible for the administrative duties of the office including managing the budget, recruiting and hiring, and directing and supervising staff. Prepare and implement a strategic plan for maximizing the Law School’s development program (including annual fund, special gifts, major gifts, foundation and corporate gifts, and grants), developing and maintaining a strong alumni base for the Law School, and enhancing the public image and events of the Law School. Design and direct the Law School’s annual fund, special gifts, major gifts, and planned giving program, including prospect identification, cultivation, and solicitation. Develop program for corporate gifts, foundation gifts, and grants. Oversee the Senior Director and the Director of Annual Fund and Special Projects in achievement of fundraising goals. Develop and direct the Law School’s alumni affairs program with the goal of developing and maintaining alumni support of the Law School, including a comprehensive alumni reunion program, alumni events, Alumni Board of governors and other groups, and related activities. Oversee the Senior Director and the Director of Alumni Affairs in achievement of alumni relations goals. Develop and implement Law School’s alumni relations, public relations, and media relations programs to enhance the Law School’s image and to promote its development activities and academic programs. Work with Director of Marketing and Communications and other senior staff to write and produce publicity materials. Write speeches for the dean as required. Orchestrate, coordinate, and manage special events of Law School. Engage the staff, faculty, alumni, and volunteers of the Law School in achievement of development, alumni relations, and external affairs goals. Coordinate activities of the Law School with the university development office and related offices. Will be responsible for the budget of the office of Development and Alumni Relations. Assist the dean in strategic planning process for the Law School. Support the dean in solicitation, cultivation, positioning, and public activities.
