Community Legal Aid (CLA), a non-profit legal services program providing free civil legal assistance to low-income and elderly residents of central and western Massachusetts, seeks an attorney to work for a period of two years spearheading its medical-legal partnership with Baystate Medical Center in Springfield. This new project is funded by the Office of the Massachusetts Attorney General. The attorney will oversee the administration of the project and will hold regular intake hours at primary care clinical sites; serve as a liaison between the legal and clinical project partners; and handle a varied caseload with a focus on housing law and family law. The position includes grant-reporting and administration duties.
QUALIFICATIONS: Admission to Mass. Bar or entitlement to practice under a Mass. practice rule required. Candidate must be highly organized and have excellent oral and written communication skills. Experience in developing, administering and/or working as an attorney in a medical-legal partnership or other collaborative setting strongly preferred, as are strong interpersonal skills and an ability to work collaboratively with corporate and institutional partners. Fluency in a second language, especially Spanish, preferred. Access to reliable transportation required.

CLA also provides free civil legal assistance to victims of crime and survivors of homicide victims.
