We are looking for an online editorial all-star who has a passion for all things nutrition, health and fitness. The right candidate will have excellent writing, editing and communication skills as well as an understanding of social platforms and their respective participants (Facebook, Twitter, Yelp, Google , YouTube, Pinterest etc.) and the types of content that work best on each platform. Additionally, the candidate will have an interest in blogs and knowledge of blogging platform.
At LIVESTRONG.COM we pride ourselves on publishing timely health and fitness content emphasizing actionable and practical tips that will help a wide audience of readers to improve their overall health, happiness and well-being.
Responsibilities:
• Work with a driven and highly-motivated team to support daily fast-paced creation of editorial and social media content.
• Write daily editorial and social media headlines and posts that click and engage well with readers.
• Monitor, listen and respond to users on Twitter, Facebook and other platforms.
• Edit, source and crop images and publish daily blog posts.
• Responsible for having fingers on the pulse of all daily health, nutrition, sports, and fitness news.
• Own and update the social media calendar for LIVESTRONG.COM.
• Develop and expand social contacts, fans and followers for LIVESTRONG.COM and contribute to blogger outreach efforts.
• Track daily and weekly stats on Twitter engagement, click-throughs and follower numbers, and aim to increase all metrics.
• Recommend Twitter strategies and execute tactics. Have a “test and iterate” mindset that will drive you to try multiple tactics to increase followers, click-throughs and retweets.
• Photo sourcing for social media (ie: Facebook Timeline cover, profile pic, thumbnails, ads, landing pages, Twitter profile, and blog).
• Source and crop images using Adobe PhotoShop.
• Write editorial content.
• Perform other editorial tasks and projects as necessary when required to support business objectives.
Requirements:
• Five years of experience in an editorial environment, with strong writing, editing and communication skills.
• A passion for nutrition, health and fitness content.
• Excellent content editing and copyediting skills.
• Familiarity with AP style and/or other publishing style guides.

• Basic Photoshop skills.
• Experience working with freelance writers, making assignments and providing feedback.

• Ability to manage and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Makes evident good technical understanding and can pick up new tools quickly.
• Strong self-motivation and drive to succeed.
• Efficiency, accuracy, dependability and strong attention to detail.

• Strong collaboration, communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficient with Adobe Photoshop, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel); experience with various social media and analytics platforms, and knowledge of HTML.
• Proven experience working with a content management system.

• Bachelor’s degree required. Journalism, English, communications or related field preferred.


• Understanding of online publishing and the competitive landscape. 

• Journalistic curiosity and energy to discover new topics; creative problem solving skills.

• Knowledge of SEO fundamentals.
