The candidate is responsible to manage coverage and liability issues. Estimate cost of treatment or compensation for those injured in accidents. Negotiate with attorneys to settle bodily injury (BI) claims. Determine liability (who's at fault for the damages). Interpret medical reports, follow-up with no fault parties and manage claims process to ensure efficient resolution. Must have a Bachelor's degree and 1 year of work experience in the insurance industry. In lieu of a degree, a total of 5 years of work experience is needed, some of which must be claims handling in the insurance industry. Must have effective communication skills. Previous experience in understanding coverage and liability is strongly preferred.
