Real Estate Investment Trusts Associate Attorney

Profile

A law firm seeks a mid-level associate to join its New York, NY office as a member of a growing Investment Funds practice focused on Real Estate Investment Trusts (REITs).

Duties

• Counsel clients on structuring and operating publicly traded and non-listed REITs and other real-estate fund vehicles

• Draft and negotiate offering documents, board resolutions, and governance agreements under the 1933 and 1934 Acts

• Coordinate SEC filings, compliance disclosures, and periodic reporting obligations

• Partner with cross-disciplinary teams (tax, corporate, and regulatory) to execute complex fund transactions

• Engage directly with institutional investors, sponsors, and trustees to advance fundraising and strategic initiatives

Requirements

• 2–6 years of experience advising on REITs or comparable real-estate investment structures

• Demonstrated knowledge of federal securities laws, including registration and reporting requirements under the 1933 and 1934 Acts

• Proven ability to manage client deliverables and deliver strategic, commercial advice

• Strong interpersonal skills and an entrepreneurial mindset to foster direct client relationships

• Capacity to thrive in a high-growth, collaborative environment

Education

• Juris Doctor from an ABA-accredited law school

Certifications

• Active admission to the New York State Bar
