A law firm in Minneapolis, MN is seeking an Intellectual Property Income Partner with substantial experience in global patent prosecution and opinion work, specifically within the life sciences sector. The ideal candidate will have a robust background in biotech and pharma, demonstrating proficiency in all facets of patent prosecution and counseling. This role requires superior academic achievements, exceptional written and oral communication skills, and a proven ability to manage complex intellectual property matters.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage global patent prosecution efforts, focusing on life sciences and biotech.
• Provide expert legal opinions on patent-related issues including validity, infringement, and freedom-to-operate.
• Handle licensing agreements and negotiate contracts related to intellectual property.
• Develop and implement strategic IP portfolios for clients in the biotech and pharma industries.
• Offer strategic counsel to clients on IP matters, including risk assessment and commercialization strategies.
• Represent clients in negotiations, disputes, and litigation involving intellectual property rights.
• Cultivate and maintain strong client relationships, with an emphasis on leveraging existing portable business.
• Mentor and supervise junior attorneys and support staff, providing guidance on complex IP issues.
• Stay abreast of industry trends, developments in intellectual property law, and advancements in life sciences.

Requirements:

• Juris Doctorate (JD) from an accredited law school.
• Admission to practice law in the state of Minnesota.
• PhD in biological sciences preferred.
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in intellectual property law, with a focus on life sciences and biotech.
• Demonstrated expertise in global patent prosecution, counseling, and licensing.
• Small amount of portable business is a plus.

Education:

• Juris Doctorate (JD) required.
• PhD in biological sciences preferred.

Certifications:

• Licensed to practice law in the state of Minnesota.

Skills:
