The candidate should be a person of vision and leadership who can build strong working relationships with students, faculty, staff, and administration. Important needs for this position are the ability to translate vision into action, experience with professional military education (PME) or senior level National Security educational programs, a record of program innovation, and strong team-building and communication skills. Responsible for all matters relating to academic leadership and administration, including overseeing the academic programs, academic departments, faculty, staff, and students. Sets standards for intellectual engagement and accomplishment for the School and provides strategic vision and leadership to all aspects of academic and professional programs. Fosters and promotes a learning environment that embraces new modalities, experimentation, innovation, and assessment. Maintains civilian and military accreditation.
