Litigation Associate Attorney

Profile

A law firm specializing in intellectual property seeks a Litigation Associate Attorney to join their team in Washington, DC. The role involves preparation and trial of patent litigation matters, including case strategy, discovery management, and courtroom advocacy.

Job Duties:

• Prepare and conduct trials for patent litigation matters, ensuring adherence to case strategy.
• Manage all aspects of discovery, including document production and review.
• Work closely with witnesses, including experts and fact witnesses, for deposition and trial preparation.
• Analyze products and patents for infringement and validity issues.
• Conduct and defend depositions and witness examinations.
• Draft pleadings, motions, and court arguments related to patent issues.

Requirements:

• JD degree from an ABA-accredited law school.
• Admission to or eligibility for admission in the District of Columbia.
• 3-5 years of experience in patent litigation in district courts and/or before the ITC.
• Experience with patent infringement and validity analyses.
• Proficiency in drafting motions and briefs concerning patent issues.
• Familiarity with managing discovery aspects of litigation.
• Preferable experience in preparing for, defending, or taking depositions.
• Preferable experience in working with expert and fact witnesses.
• Preferred degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.

Education and Certifications:

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an ABA-accredited law school.
