ECVC Associate Attorney

Profile

A law firm in San Francisco, CA, is seeking an ECVC Associate Attorney to lead financing transactions and engage directly with investor-side clients, with a focus on fostering relationships with institutional investors funding private technology and life sciences companies. This role will primarily involve working on the financing of high-growth businesses at all stages of their development, including Preferred Stock financings for seed-stage start-ups and pre-IPO unicorns.

Duties:

• Lead financing transactions in the ECVC practice area.
• Interact directly with investor-side clients and institutional investors.
• Foster and maintain relationships with investors funding technology and life sciences companies.
• Focus on financing high-growth businesses at various stages of development.
• Handle Preferred Stock financings for both seed-stage start-ups and pre-IPO unicorns, often on the same day.

Requirements:

• 6 years of ECVC (Early-Stage Venture Capital) experience, with a primary focus on investor-side work.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
• Admission to the California Bar or eligibility for California Bar admission.

Certifications:

• California Bar membership (or eligibility for California Bar admission).

Skills:

• Strong legal and financial acumen related to ECVC transactions.
• Exceptional communication and negotiation skills.
• Ability to build and maintain relationships with institutional investors.
• Proficiency in transactional law, particularly in the context of high-growth technology and life sciences companies.
• Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple transactions simultaneously.
• Knowledge of preferred stock financings and the unique challenges of seed-stage and pre-IPO companies.
