New Jersey Natural Gas is seeking an energetic, responsible intern to join our active department. In this position, the intern will be expected to learn the ins-and-outs of our daily routines and procedures. They will focus on learning how our department and organization runs, and can be expected to gain valuable insight that can further their interest in their chosen career field. In addition to office duties, the intern will have the opportunity to meet and work with colleagues, managers, and executives.

Major Responsibilities:• Answer phone inquiries, direct calls, and provide basic company information• Perform various office duties, photocopy, fax, run errands, etc. as needed• Assist in preparing information and research materials• Sort and manage files• Take notes and memos during meetings• Take photos at events, prepare social media content, develop photo opportunities, etc.• Type documents, drafts, and reports• Manage databases and input information, data, and records• Research and gather information related to the department’s work• Set up, break down, organize, and maintain various events• Create and maintain PowerPoint presentations• Attend company functions and community events• Shadow multiple office positions and train in a variety of tasks• Update and post supervised social media and website content

Position Specifications:• Currently enrolled in an accredited college or university, pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Communications or a related field. • Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, and Excel). • Self-directed and able to work without supervision. • Energetic and eager to tackle new projects and ideas. • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, analytical skills, leadership skills, and knowledge of computer systems. • Excellent problem-solving skills, strong interpersonal and organizational skills. • May require attendance at meetings or events that take place after regular work hours and on weekends.

This is a 10-week summer position from June to August, Monday through Friday.
