A law firm seeks a motivated and detail-oriented Briefing and Research Attorney to support the litigation team in Corpus Christi, TX. This role is ideal for a recent law school graduate or an attorney with some experience in personal injury law, looking to further develop their skills in case preparation and legal research. The attorney will play a vital role in assisting trial attorneys by conducting research, drafting legal documents, and preparing materials for depositions and trials.

Duties:

  • Assist in preparing and drafting legal documents, including discovery requests, pleadings, motions, and responses.
  • Conduct in-depth legal research to support trial strategies and case development.
  • Prepare materials for depositions, including witness lists, questions, and case summaries.
  • Provide trial support by assisting attorneys during trial preparation and proceedings.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure all aspects of case development are covered.
  • Participate in strategy sessions to learn effective techniques for managing personal injury cases.
  • Ensure all research and documents are accurate, timely, and compliant with legal standards.
  • Maintain case files and document management systems.

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Must be licensed and in good standing with the State Bar of Texas.
  • 0-3 years of experience in personal injury law (preferred but not required).
  • Strong legal research and writing skills, with the ability to draft clear, concise legal documents.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with attorneys, staff, and clients.
  • Previous customer service or sales experience is a plus.
  • Valid Texas driver’s license with a clean driving record.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Active license to practice law in the state of Texas.

Skills:

  • Excellent research and analytical skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Familiarity with personal injury law and litigation procedures.
  • Proficiency in legal research tools and case management software.
