Scientific Literature Reviewer

This position is a temporary, part-time, remote position. Hours are capped at twenty (20) per week and the position is expected to last six to twelve months. Under close supervision, the Scientific Literature Reviewer role is responsible for providing administrative support of a scientific nature to the Director of the American Academy of Microbiology. This position supports the goals of the department and the mission of ASM.
Perform initial screening of the vast amount of scientific literature on COVID-19 and coronavirus research to select the relevant works for additional expert review.
Assign the research articles to the corresponding group of experts based on their specialties to perform a more in-depth review.
Summarize & document the scientific trends from the review.
Comply with company policies, procedures and regulations.

This is largely a sedentary role and may sit or use PC for long periods of time. Bending, reaching or stooping may be necessary for use of filing cabinets or other office cabinets or office machines. This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, filing cabinets and fax machines.

Masters or better in Microbiology and Molecular Cell Sciences or related field.
Doctoral and Post-Doctoral candidates are preferred. Experience in coronavirus research and scientific literature review is highly preferred.
