SUMMARY: This position is responsible for proper docking of trailers for loading; laying out each load for proper weight distribution; tabulation of complete shipping orders and inventory control. Other duties include: assisting department supervisor in the coordination of Team Members in the Shipping department by passing on management instructions and orders; explaining and ensuring the understanding of such orders; checking/verifying the readiness of equipment before operation and after breaks; working with transportation, other departments, and external sources.REQUIREMENTS:Education: High School diploma or equivalent preferred.Experience: General understanding of product identification, weights,observation documentation. This could be for the entire shift.Communication Skills: Must have good verbal and written communicationskills and have the ability to communicate with all Team Members.Computer Skills: Basic computer skills required.Physical Demands and Requirements: Bending: Forward flexion ofapproximately 20° occurs when the team member places the box on thepallet. Assuming the team member uses the correct technique thereshould be no torso rotation. Lifting: The team member may lift boxesplaced on the pallet. The weights of these boxes are up to 110 lbs.Responsible for handling a minimum of 15 boxes per minute or more with amaximum box weight of 105 pounds. Push/Pull: A push/pull movement maybe required to manipulate the box in order to get it to scan properly.The force required for this will vary based on the size of the box andthe space available between boxes. The range of force required could beminimal to moderately heavy. Reaching: The boxes are conveyed to withineasy reach. Grasping: A hook grip is used to lift and carry the boxes.A contact is used to push the boxes when necessary. Both hands arerequired. Standing: The team member may be required to stand throughoutthe entire shift. The team member is required to walk back and forthalong the box loading conveyor, as well as walk to other areas of thedepartment as needed. Force: Depending on the box weight, the forcerequired will range from medium to moderately heavy.Supervisory: NoneTravel: None
