Trust Officer
The candidate will administer continuing trusts through the review of trust documents establishing scope of trustee responsibilities; monitor cash balances; prepare investment recommendations for committee approval; respond to client beneficiary inquiries; prepare recommendations on discretionary matters and submits to the Trust Committee for approval as required. Will organize and administer estates and assumes accountability for all aspects of the accounts and client relations including but not limited to reviewing wills and meeting with families and attorneys to establish scope of the fiduciary responsibilities. Assemble, inventory, and take custody of assets; review decedent’s financial records including prior year tax returns. Collect all income, receivables, and other money due; examine claims against estate and makes reasonable and proper payments. Estimate cash needs for legacies, taxes, and other costs of settling estate; select securities to be sold to raise cash. Oversee the preparation of state and federal tax returns for decedent and estate. Communicate with other departments in the Company to obtain information or assistance on behalf of clients. Submit final accountings to the court and arrange distribution of assets. Manage investments for trusts and estates as well as discretionary and non-discretionary IMA’s through account reviews; make recommendations for necessary investment changes to Investment Committee and review account performance periodically with clients. Participate in business development activities to increase new AUM revenue and referrals. Make initial contacts directly or by referral; discuss trust and investment services with individuals or groups and seek speaking engagement opportunities to promote trust, investment management, estate planning, and/or financial planning services. Cross-sell bank services and refers prospects to other departments/officers when appropriate. Serve as a member of Trust Administration Committee, participating in weekly meetings. Perform tasks which are supportive in nature to the essential functions of the job, both which may be altered and re-designed depending upon the department needs or individual circumstances. Perform all other duties as assigned.
