Commercial Real Estate Paralegal / Transaction Specialist

The candidate will conducts title, survey, and other title-related due diligence on CRE single-site and portfolio transactions in the DC/MD/VA area and nationally. Supervises new order entry and fulfillment, paperless file setup, commitment production tracking; validates property/order/party information; promptly identifies (proactively) and addresses (reactively) new information regarding the title, the transaction, and/or the business parties, to ensure the highest possible quality and efficiency in title production and underwriting services. Where necessary, reviews and resolves questions and issues raised in conveyance documents, security instruments, title-chain documents & plats, assessor parcel maps, assessor/tax data, and other documents. Assists with commitment and policy underwriting, in close coordination with attorney and non-attorney underwriters. Creates and maintains internal title files; identifies, documents, and communicates title research and underwriting, escrow events, and transaction milestones as necessary to ensure timely transaction flow, sound underwriting, and efficient escrow service. Handles various escrow and post-closing functions. Takes full advantage of a robust knowledge base, learning culture, and data infrastructure in order to stay current and develop in relevant substantive areas, helping colleagues to do the same.
