To transform the services business and to develop the strategy for a differentiated complete care guest experience across all services offerings. This role will develop and implement business initiatives, price and promotional strategies, increase services sales, and improve services profitability. This position must deliver on Petco’s brand promise to provide a relationship-based and seamless guest experience.
Essential Job Functions: The incumbent must be able to perform all of the following duties and responsibilities with or without a reasonable accommodation.
Strategically position complete care services in alignment with Petco’s brand promise to exceed guest expectations and achieve financial budgets. Lead the vision for complete care services to build awareness, support and collaboration across the company.
Work collaboratively with direct reports and the services operations team to set business and financial goals and objectives and be accountable for flawless execution with our guests.
Become the expert on pet services and related products, customer trends, market factors, research and analysis to develop and manage key factors affecting the performance of the complete care services business.
Identify ways to acquire new guests, retain existing guests and grow market basket for the company to relentlessly improve the complete care services experience.
Simplify processes and flawlessly execute. Create the most simple, yet impactful price and promotional strategy and marketing plans that ensure the most efficient methods are used to deliver on an excellent guest experience.
Partner closely with services operations to ensure services levels are exceptional and margin is optimized.
Responsibilities include recruiting, interviewing, hiring, training, mentoring/coaching, providing functional guidance, assignment delegation and follow-through, as well as disciplinary action and termination when necessary. Manage two managers plus external agencies.
The majority of job responsibilities are performed while seated indoors with little exposure to hazards. Approx. 10% travel is required to field locations by plane or automobile.
The successful candidate will have excellent leadership, management, supervisory, interpersonal and communication skills. The ability to listen, synthesize, lead, explain and communicate at all levels will be critical. A bachelor’s degree and at least ten years as a business, marketing or merchandising leader in a comparable sized organization or equivalent experience developing and executing strategic initiatives (e.g., management consultant) in a larger organization is required. An advanced degree and experience in higher education are strongly preferred. A minimum of three to five years should have served in a supervisory capacity with proven experience leading cross functional teams to a successful outcome.
