Vice President, Employee Relations
The candidate will be responsible for: Provides leadership and guidance on employment related matters, which may include, human resources issues, wage and hour law, workers’ compensation, unemployment and other state agency claims, employee benefits, employment agreements and policy related issues, FMLA matters, employment related litigation, and dispute resolutions and generally assists the SVP, Human Resources. Ensures compliance with all applicable laws, regulations and policies, through a close working relationship with CCA’s Legal Department and outside labor and employment counsel. Participates in and influences the decision-making process with appropriate clients and stakeholders. Identifies and assesses risks and opportunities within the employment area and advises accordingly. Independently handles employment matters and projects ranging from basic to complex. Recognizes when to elevate certain matters to the attention of the SVP, Human Resources. Educates clients and stakeholders on employment matters, policies and procedures. Advocates **MEMBERS ONLY**SIGN UP NOW***.’s interests in assigned matters Establishes and maintains relationships, credibility and trust with business leaders, stakeholders, HR and legal team members and other colleagues. As appropriate, collaborates closely on employment matters with CCA’s Legal Department. Perform other tasks as assigned from time to time by the SVP, Human Resources. Able to travel at times. Must have a JD degree from an accredited law school. Should have 10+ years of substantive labor and employment experience with a corporate legal department or a nationally recognized law firm. Prefer a candidate with experience in counseling clients on employment matters. Strong writing skills required. Strong communication skills required. Must have background as an employment lawyer; ability to manage heavy workload in a high-pressure environment. Should have good communication (oral and written) and interpersonal skills within and across
departments and externally; must be proactive in providing guidance to business units and human resources staff.
