Duties:

• Represent clients in ODR due process hearings and other special education legal proceedings.
• Attend school meetings and collaborate with school districts, parents, and educators to ensure compliance with special education laws.
• Conduct client intakes, assess cases, and provide legal advice to families of students with disabilities.
• Conduct thorough legal research and draft legal documents, including complaints, petitions, and briefs.

Requirements:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
• Admission to the Pennsylvania State Bar or eligibility for reciprocity.
• Demonstrated experience in practicing special education law or relevant work and/or life experience, with a strong understanding of the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) and related laws.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills to effectively advocate for clients' rights.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to independently manage a high volume of cases.
• Knowledge of legal software and tools commonly used in the field.

Certifications:

• Pennsylvania State Bar admission or eligibility for reciprocity.
