Part-Time Assistant Professor

Duties: The candidate will engage students in the area of law; hold weekly synchronous sessions; offer weekly, substantive feedback on written work; and inspire students to achieve course and program outcomes relevant to the core discipline. Email/record and post a welcome letter to their assigned students one week prior to the start of the course, when feasible, but always within the first week of the course. Record and post a video introduction which will be placed in each course. Answer all student emails within two calendar days which is likely to require responding over weekends. The exception to this requirement is when there is a holiday observed by the University. Communication with students will take place within the University learning management system (LMS), University-designated systems and through University assigned email. Contact Academic and Finance Advisors (by use of designated means) in the LMS as soon as a Professor determines a student is not actively participating in the course. Contact a student by email and a phone call to encourage re-engagement in the course as soon as Professor determines a student is not actively participating in the course. Host no less than one, one-hour synchronous office hour session per week. Office hours will be posted in each course. Provide quality feedback to students. Substantive and reflect a content focus. Impart knowledge, share resources and dialogue with students. Communicate in a manner and with language reflecting support of the student. Maintain a record of scholarly activities befitting a doctoral granting institution. Contribute to the body of knowledge of their discipline. Compliance with University Policies. Expected to know, acknowledge, and comply with University policies as stated in the Team Member Handbook and Faculty Handbook.
