Design

department, the

Instructional Designer

leverages expertise in learning science and an in-depth understanding of Trilogy's tools and technology to create learning best practices for our boot camp courses. The ID's work helps to identify creative and engaging opportunities in our online and on-ground courses. The ID works with the Managing Editor and Curriculum teams to ensure products meet professional standards in pedagogy and that they provide a guiding vision for the course development process.

Responsibilities Include, But Are Not Limited To:

Learning design strategy at the course-level

Work with curriculum teams (SMEs and managing editors) to incorporate best practices in learning/pedagogy.

Provide strategy on (and help create) course planners, module/unit planners, rubrics, assessments, visual asset planners, etc.

Perform ID/structural reviews of written content to ensure pedagogical soundness, clarity, organization, and flow. For example, make sure that:

Curriculum narrative is scoped and refined.

Concepts are explained in the right order, with appropriate context, depth and alignment with outcomes.

There is the right level of engagement for student learning.

Assist with identifying a variety of instructional media and assets. For example, videos, images, cheatsheets, slideshows, etc.

Create and train product teams to write assessments (Learnosity) elements and rubrics.

Ideate and prototype new features that support student learning and provide insights that inform learning design decisions.

Process Management and Improvement

Ensure our onground and online products maintain effective alignment as well as lead the teams on how to better improve alignment.

Identify problem areas in processes and devise strategies for improvement and standardization.

Support pedagogical alignment across product teams (programs, instruction, career services, etc.).

Training & Documentation

Collaborate with curriculum & learning teams on training initiatives for curriculum teams based on program needs.

Maintain templates and in-house curriculum materials.

Maintain onboarding materials and documentation for new writers to facilitate curriculum writing process.

Things That Should Be In Your Background:

5 years of directly relevant or transferable professional experience.

A background in instructional design or curriculum design.

A real interest in designing learning experiences, working with subject matter experts, serving students, and impacting education is essential.

Experience developing formative & summative learning assessments a plus.

Strong, persuasive verbal and written communication skills.
