The Maintenance Department in the Detroit Refinery is currently seeking a candidate for the Instrument/Analyzer Shop Maintenance Foreman position.  The Instrument/Analyzer Shop Foreman must have a basic understanding of the work processes required to repair and maintain Instrumentation/Analyzer equipment.  This position will report to the Maintenance Craft Supervisor.  The Instrument/Analyzer Shop Maintenance Foreman manages the day to day routine maintenance work on Instrumentation and Analyzers throughout the refinery.  As a foreman, the individual contributes to the achievement of company goals and objectives by managing individual and team performance in the safe and efficient execution of maintenance activities to achieve the production plan and improve the reliability of the facility. 


To be successful, a Maintenance Foreman must fulfill several roles and responsibilities that include, but are not limited to: 

*Promote safe work practices by conducting safety meetings, conducting Daily Tool Box and Monthly Sequential Safety Meetings, participating in safety audits and investigations and ensuring compliance with safety rules and regulations. *Lead by example, coach and mentor employees to improve performance and skills, use discipline actions if and when required, and identify and assist in the development of training requirements for employees. *Participate in morning meeting that reviews schedule breakers and other potential issues with a daily work plan. *Ensure that the execution of all maintenance or maintenance related Instrumentation/Analyzer work is performed and completed in a safe and efficient manner to meet production.  *Provides technical assistance on the repair of various types of Instrumentation and Analyzers. *Ensure that preventative maintenance orders are being completed and that the plan aligns with current industry best practices. *Recognize and reward positive behaviors and work of Instrument Mechanics and Analyzer Technicians. *Ensures appropriate resources are available and work preparation is adequate for optimal work performance. *Participates in daily execution meeting with Operations Maintenance Specialists to determine the jobs to be completed the next day. *Assist in the development of job plans, through technical analysis, field walk downs, and identification of resource requirements. *Participates in weekly scheduling process formulizing next week's maintenance work schedule. *Ensure that calibration equipment is being certified and tested as required. *Perform employee performance evaluations to collaboratively assist employees to identify improvement opportunities. *Enters employee non-working hours (call offs, vacations, bank days). *Performs work order backlog review for work closure.



*High School Diploma or GED required. *Must have 5 years of experience as a instrument and/or analyzer technician in a refining, petro-chemical or other related industrial setting. *Must be proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.


*Leadership experience desired.
