Highly Skilled Legal Support Assistant

The candidate should have 3+ years of legal experience; administrative experience, exceptional communication and organizational skills and the ability to work effectively within a group or independently. Prefer litigation experience, but not necessary. Candidate should be proficient in MS Word (high priority), Outlook and Excel and type a minimum of 65 words per minute with high accuracy. This position will support several attorneys. The candidate should be detail oriented and able to work well in a fast paced environment. Responsibilities include: Prioritizing and executing tasks quickly and accurately; Formatting and setting up documents including pleadings, briefs, correspondence, and other legal documents; Prepare shell documents for attorneys in preparation of discovery, orders, motions, and trial documents; Excellent proofreading skills; Update and maintain files in a timely manner; Time entry, processing client bills, conducting client conflict checks, transcribing dictation; Maintain calendars with pertinent dates and deadlines as well as other necessary dates; Reviewing vendor invoices and requesting checks for payment in a timely manner.
