Spring Internship

The intern will split their time between assisting legislative staff and working with an administrative department, which include the executive staff, the press office and mail services. Will be tracking legislation and researching issues for the Legislative Assistants. Assisting in drafting statements for the Congressional Record. Attending committee hearings. Handling constituent phone calls and requests. Assisting with correspondence. Giving tours of the Capitol. Assisting with newspaper clippings and conducting research for press projects. Drafting constituent letters. Conducting research. Attending community meetings. Helping the staff with advance work for the senator's visits to the state. Opening and sorting mail. Arranging tours for constituents planning to visit Washington.
