Part time Intellectual Property Enforcement Intern

The intern will under the supervision of in-house counsel, assist with performing certain duties within firm's intellectual property enforcement program, primarily assisting with online enforcement and related research and document drafting projects. Review and analyze reports of suspected online infringements, including product listings and social media posts, and recommend a plan of action with respect to same. Evaluate copyright, trademark, publicity right infringement issues. Search for and monitor online infringements. Research applicable laws and prepare memorandums related to online infringements. Under the supervision of in-house counsel, draft takedown notices and demand letters with respect to online infringements, and otherwise assist with enforcement actions as directed by in-house counsel. Maintain appropriate files, authorization letters, and records of online IP enforcement matters. Assist legal team with rights and authorization clearance process, including researching IP ownership, entering pertinent data into a tracking system, and drafting agreements and letters as directed by in-house counsel. Must be in pursuit of a JD or LLM degree at an accredited law school; must have completed at least one year of JD or LLM program. Must have familiarity with Copyright, Trademark, and Publicity Rights law, and notice and takedown rules and procedures under the Digital Millennium Copyright Act and similar laws. Familiarity with the major ecommerce and social media platforms is required. Must have strong analytical and decision-making skills. Excellent oral and written communication skills needed. Must be proficient in Microsoft Office & Google Chrome.
