Duties:

• Handle litigation matters, focusing on insurance defense, medical malpractice, trucking defense, construction defense, and civil litigation.
• Conduct thorough legal research and draft legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and briefs.
• Assist with trial preparation, including discovery, deposition, and case strategy development.
• Represent clients in court hearings, mediations, and other legal proceedings.
• Collaborate with senior attorneys to ensure effective case management and client representation.
• Meet billable-hour goals while adhering to billing guidelines within the insurance industry.
• Maintain organized case files and provide regular case updates to clients.

Requirements:

• 1-5 years of relevant litigation experience preferred, particularly in insurance defense or related fields.
• Licensed to practice law in Indiana and/or Kentucky (dual licensure preferred).
• Strong research, writing, and analytical skills.
• Familiarity with billing guidelines for the insurance industry is a plus.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

• Active Indiana Bar admission is required; Kentucky Bar admission is preferred.

Skills:

• Proficiency in legal research, writing, and drafting pleadings.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Familiarity with medical terminology is desirable but not required.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Ability to meet deadlines and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment.
