Staff Attorney (Migrant) – Immigrant and Workers’ Rights
Duties: Provide comprehensive legal services to farmworker clients with employment law related matters, including unemployment, wage theft, discrimination, pesticide exposure, housing violations, and labor-based U visas, and T visas for survivors of trafficking; Conduct community outreach throughout Illinois to migrant farmworkers; File administrative complaints and state or federal litigation on behalf of farmworkers; Train stakeholders on identifying the legal needs of farmworker clients; Make appropriate referrals to outside agencies; Attend trainings and maintaining up-to-date knowledge of current legal issues surrounding farmworker law; Assist with grant reporting requirements; Help to supervise law student interns; Other duties as determined by the Supervising Attorney and Director.
