Summer Associate Program

The candidate ‘will assist with business, real estate, and oil and gas transactional matters and assist with litigation cases in Bryan/College Station and the surrounding counties. Will manage own cases/transactions with the benefit of a team atmosphere. Should have strong interpersonal skills and will build client relationships and provide an excellent customer experience for clients. The program will be six weeks in length and held in the second half of the summer. In late spring 2021, we will decide on whether or not the program will be held entirely virtual. Upon successful completion of the Summer Associate Program, students will be considered for first-year associate positions in those offices. We will conduct on-campus interviews or resume collections at most law schools throughout our firm’s regional footprint. Students at those schools should apply through their career services office. However, we also welcome direct applications from students at all law schools. Direct Applications for the 2021 Summer Associate Program will be accepted through our firm website between Wednesday, December 16 at 9 AM and Monday, January 4 at 12 PM. Will expect an experience quite similar to that of a first-year associate at our firm. The summer program experience entails most aspects of associate life, including challenging assignments, knowledge and skills development programs, and social interaction with associates, partners and staff. Through supervising attorneys, summer associates receive varied assignments as well as in-depth feedback. Associate mentors and supervising attorneys are paired with the summer associates based on personal and professional interests. Weekly practice briefings are conducted with attorneys from each of our major practice groups to supplement the work experience and provide a broader exposure to the various practice areas. Partners also play a prominent role in the Summer Associate Program by attending summer associate social activities. Partners get to know our summer associates on a personal level.
