Workers’ Compensation Attorney
The candidate will answers client’s questions and guides him or her through the workers’ compensation process; Gathers medical evidence and medical records. Contacts medical providers and completes paperwork relating to the claim; Represents the interests of the claimant at hearings, trials, depositions, oral arguments, mediation, arbitration and other proceedings; Takes depositions of the claimant, physicians, medical experts, and other parties; Conducts discovery, and drafts pleadings, findings of fact, motions, briefs, opinions and other legal documents; Litigates cases before a workers’ compensation judge or referee; Assists the injured worker with workers’ compensation benefits, including appropriate medical care; Communicates with the worker’s supervisors on the injured worker’s status; Negotiates settlements on behalf of the claimant.
