We are looking for Associate Director of Software Engineering to drive the design and implementation of Digital Health Platform.

Responsibilities

We are looking for Associate Director of Software Engineering who is an experienced engineering leader and architectural thinker to drive the design and implementation of Digital Health Platform. The platform is at the center of the Humana experience, unifying the member experience across touchpoints, connecting Humana's digital ecosystem under one roof and accelerating how Humana build and deliver connected user experiences. We're looking for someone passionate about leadership, data and performance to set the stage for the next decade of growth.

You w ill


Define and drive the engineering team's technology vision and roadmap with an eye toward scale and performance
Partner with all stakeholders to ensure customer needs are met while protecting the integrity of the platform
Assess and employ new technologies to promote ease of development, scalability and performance gains for the platform
Ensure the team has the tools and capabilities to provide operational excellence
Promote excellence in execution by streamlining agile processes, clarity in project definition, and making smart tradeoffs between tech debt accumulation and pay off
Provide leadership to the team by attracting and hiring talented leaders and individual contributors, setting goals and communicating clear expectations, managing performance, and sponsoring and leading team members through change

You have


You have deep technical experience and track record building cloud-based platforms at scale

Ability to inspire creativity and excellence in software engineering and architecture

Strong sense of accountability, customer service, and integrity demonstrated through uptime, responsiveness, clear communication and positive action

Strong track record of delivering high quality products that support sophisticated business-critical use cases

You're an architect and systems thinker

You enjoy creating order and stability in a dynamic environment

Experience shaping and leading an agile, results-oriented organization, making strategic trade-offs that are in priority when needed.

Ability to build and lead a team of software engineers of all experience levels

7 years of hands-on software engineering experience (Java)

4 years of managing teams (5 team members minimum)

Bachelors in Computer Science, Engineering or related field required

You will report to a Technology Director.
