The Enterprise Technology Analyst/Emergent Technologies will support the identification, evaluation and implementation of new IT technologies as a means to improve operational efficiencies/service delivery, reduce total cost of IT ownership, and expand IT service catalog offerings to better meet current and future customer requirements. The Enterprise Technology Analyst will report to the Program Manager and be responsible for technology analysis, risk assessment and implementing technical standards in accordance with applicable Air Force, DoD and Federal instructions, guidance and directives.
Responsibilities/Duties:
Emergent Technologies evolves at a rapid and continued pace. In order to realize new benefits such as higher efficiency, increased productivity, or overall lowered cost of ownership, AFRL/RIOS must incorporate new yet potentially disruptive technologies into the enterprise architecture. Identify, investigate and recommend emerging technologies and trends that could be applicable for inclusion into the enterprise architecture.
Evaluate trade studies, white papers, and proposals for adoption of new technologies. Participate in planning/requirements meetings and attend conferences, seminars, technical exchange meetings as needed.
Recommend, propose, and present solutions consisting of software, integrated hardware, and professional service offerings based on customer need & business analysis.
Provide strategic planning in order to outline a multi-year architectural roadmap for the enterprise.
Establish and maintain a pre-production environment that functionally replicates the capabilities found within the production enterprise environment.
Integrate technologies into the pre-production environment without impacting or jeopardizing production business process.
Work with stakeholders and potential consumers of the technology to identify and develop requirements, use and test cases, and exit criteria for evaluation in the pre-production environment.
Perform testing, evaluation and analysis based on use and test cases to determine business impacts and integration approach. Document and report findings and recommendations into an overall integrated project plan.
Upon approval and sign-off from the government, install, configure and validate the deployment and integration of the technology into the production enterprise environment and ensure that relevant business processes are modified.
Provide guidance, policies, and procedures for TCNO/NOTAM, software update, patches, and Group Policy Object (GPO) testing prior to implementation onto the production enterprise. Notify the government of necessary changes and impacts to business systems and processes.
Troubleshoot and resolve conflicts that arise due to the use of COTS or GOTS hardware/software within the enterprise architecture.
Develop, test, and manage deployments deployments necessary additions and customizations to the SDC to ensure functionality within the enterprise. Manage CM of SDC configurations, their customizations and de-conflict issues that may arise between local customization and mandated SDC configurations.
Test and evaluate and support the deployment of new or modified SDC images.
In addition the EM will work in a team with the Enterprise Technology Officer (ETO) to provide the following: Provide cross-functional, inter-disciplinary support and assistance for DOD and AF sponsored initiatives.
Must be able to identify the strengths and weaknesses of the customer's service delivery model, identify, and promote areas for improvement using approved Air Force products and services.
Define and validate solution success requirements, while focusing on the customer’s as is business policies, practices, & process, to recommend the to be policies, practices, & processes.
Near-term, mid-term and long range planning; impact analyses; and investment analysis.
Recommend infrastructure, hardware and software purchases that will improve or enhance service delivery offerings.
Perform research and create technical designs for large and complicated projects.
Evaluate new technologies and make recommendations on inclusion into RIOS development methodologies and architecture.
Develop information systems architecture involving integration of multiple platforms, vendor products and technologies.
May consult with external customers on projects; advise on project feasibility and recommend solutions.
Lead requirement analysis and verification processes, ensuring that requirement statements are complete, consistent, concise, comprehensible, traceable, feasible, unambiguous, and verifiable, and that they conform to our client's standards.
Establishing key performance indicators for adopted technologies.
Lead cross-functional teams of IT professionals including Information Assurance, Network Administrators, Server Administrators and Database Administrators on scope, solutions requirements, success, constraints, deployment requirements and defined risks.
Manage all research, development, and product design initiatives.
Coordinate the resolution of vendor problems.
Utilize ingenuity and inventive thinking to evaluate options for design and deriving the best solutions based on sound analytical judgment, team input and the customers’ best interest.
Job Requirements :
4 year degree in an IT relatedfield or equivalent experience
Secret clearance required
10 years full-time experience in the field of systems analysis, systems engineering, operating systems, network analysis and/or management or similar field in a multi-platform information systems environment. One of the ten years shall include project management and leadership/mentoring of staff.
OR
Held the position of Solutions Architect with a proven track record of success.
Good oral and written communication skills, good presentation skills, the ability to motivate all levels of staff and the ability to think and act strategically and proactively.
Experience with data centers, servers, storage, networking and VOIP, in an Air Force or DoD environment.
Candidates for this highly professional position must bring proven experience of business analysis, process management, and change management skills to the position in order to provide a consultative view in recommending solutions to customers.You are expected to stay abreast of the latest industry technology and make recommendations with regards to where the Air Force is today and where it plans to go with technology in the future.
Experience developing white papers.
Must be flexible on duty hours and travel in support of non-routine operations and training support.
Preferred: Familiarity with working in a high-security environment.
