The Team

The Analytics & Business Intelligence Centre (ABI) based in Amsterdam is a designated group of Advanced Analytics (AA) & Business Intelligence (BI) professionals with the time and collective know how to:

• maximize the company’s BI investments;

• mapping out Business Intelligence Strategies;

• driving Advanced Analytics
   

The Analytics & Business Intelligence Department has been established to consolidate all of AA and BI efforts under one roof to create powerful business insights.

The Advanced Analytics and Data Science team is supporting the business through the development of data science models. We build products to help the business become more data-driven.

The ABI Data Platform team is responsible for ingesting data from various sources into a consolidated data platform and making that available in most optimal way to our various data consumers. We consist of a team of data warehouse developers and data engineers using state of the art technology within our domain.
 

Key Responsibilities:

• Analyze, Design, Develop and Test robust Data Warehouse solutions in SAP HANA & SAP BW

• Design, automate, schedule and load jobs necessary to extract data from source systems or external providers into the Data Warehouse

• Drive innovation on the platform, making sure our systems will be and stay up to date with latest technologies in the area of data warehousing

• Ensure efficient data processing on an ongoing basis including data consistency of data attributes, naming conventions and element value types

• Improve speed of new releases (continuous delivery) by collaborating with the report, data lake and support teams

• Ensure that all data flows & models are documented in line with the guidelines and ready on release to production
   

The Ideal Candidate:

• 4+ years of relevant work experience

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Information Technology, Business Management, Computer Science, Mathematics, Econometrics or other appropriate education

• Experience with SAP BW on HANA

• Experience with SAP HANA modelling

• Knowledge of SQL & ABAP languages, python is a plus

• Good understanding of data modelling and data warehouse architecture principles.

• Strong troubleshooting and debugging skills, with a passion for problem solving and investigation

• Basic understanding of retail & wholesale business processes is a plus

• Ability to coordinate with cross-functional team members and to work in an agile way

• Excellent English communication skills; the ability to convey complex analysis results clearly and with conviction to all levels of stakeholders

• Ability and willingness to learn new technologies and concepts

• Experience with Cloud based Data Lake is plus
