Description

Humana is seeking an Emerging Technology Engineer 2 (IBM-Watson Assistant Developer 2) to join our Emerging Technology team! As an Emerging Technology Engineer, you will learn, develop, and engage in developing Watson Assistant - IBM Conversational Platform for Humana. In this role, you will understand how to develop conversation service that can create virtual agents and chat bots that combine machine learning, natural language understanding, and integrated dialog scripting tools to provide outstanding customer engagements.

Responsibilities

As an Emerging Technology Engineer 2, you will:


Research and recommend changes to foundation architecture
Interface with users and staff to evaluate implementation of the new technology, IBM-Watson Assistant, in the enterprise, consistent with the goal of improving existing systems and technologies and in meeting the needs of the business
Analyze and research process of deployment and assist in this process
Understand department, segment, and organizational strategy and operating objectives, including their linkages to related areas
Make decisions regarding own work methods, occasionally in ambiguous situations, and requires minimal direction and receives guidance where needed

Required Qualifications


Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business, related field or equivalent relevant work experience including coding boot camp
2 years programming experience including: JSON, Java, JavaScript, and Full Stack OOP
Proven experience as a Software Developer, Software Engineer or similar role in a test-driven environment
Familiarity with Agile development methodologies
Experience working with big and complex data sets within large organizations and/or the analysis of healthcare data
Proficiency in verbal and written communication to senior leadership
Strong analytical and problem solving skills
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
Ability to learn new programming languages and technologies
Must be willing to work non-traditional business hours including after-hour deployments and production support as needed
Must meet Humana work at home/remote requirements (see Additional Information)


Preferred Qualifications


Prior experience with IBM-Watson Assistant, SpEL (Spring Expression Language), Cognitive Intelligence technologies and frameworks/systems (e.g. Node.JS,) a PLUS
Located in Louisville, KY
Experience with tools such as SPLUNK, Tableau and Qlik for reporting and creating data visualizations
Advanced Microsoft Access skills including ability to link to external data sources, pass-through queries, data structure and relationship design
Proficiency in SQL, SAS and other data systems
Prior experience in health insurance industry
Demonstrated experience with process documentation and re-engineering
Experience in a system analytics and/or data warehousing environment
Experience working with new and unproven technologies


Additional Information

*If you are located within 50 miles of Downtown Louisville, KY you will be expected to work in-office as needed once CDC/Covid restrictions are lifted.

Work at Home/Remote Requirements


Must ensure designated work area is free from distractions during work hours and virtual meetings
Must provide a high-speed DSL or cable modem for a workspace (Satellite and Hotspots are prohibited). A minimum standard speed of 10x1 (10mbs download x 1mbs upload) for optimal performance of is required
