Borehole geophysicist candidate is sought to carry out technical and supervisory work, requiring technical attainments and knowledge of borehole seismic data processing, whilst having a general familiarity with other technical fields. The candidate will develop and oversee large processing and modeling projects and manage allocated resources. The candidate will also be responsible for writing technical proposals and reports of an advanced nature.

Roles and Responsibilities


Borehole geophysics processing business development and growth
Plan, schedule, design and assign work as needed. Ensure timely completion of the projects.
Define goals, supervise and contribute in product delivery as team lead.
Interface with other product lines, marketing/technical sales, research, and engineering, field operations, clients, suppliers and other SLB groups in relation to their technical area of expertise.
Ensure that technologies or product developed, quality performers are properly followed
Participate in internal and external technical events such as presentations, conferences, and seminars.
Interact directly with clients and provide support as borehole seismic subject matter expert in associated field/domain of expertise.
Keep abreast of technological developments in area of expertise to ensure a high technical quality in products delivered to customer.
Champion the development of new products and workflows.
Responsible of efficient use of resources and facilities to achieve organizational goals from local business demands and look for ways to successfully manage business opportunities.


Qualifications


Education: Bachelor's Degree, Master's Degree or other higher Degree in Engineering or Pure or Applied Science. Preferred MSc in Geophysics.
Candidates must be able to legally work and reside in the US, without sponsorship


Experience


Preferred Experience: BS with minimum 10 years of related experience, MS with minimum 6 years of related experience or PhD with 3 years of related experience in the following areas:
General experience of processing wireline and seismic-while-drilling datasets.
Processing surface or VSP data in Gulf of Mexico, minimum 3 years
Advanced survey design, including model building, ray tracing, finite difference simulation and imaging to qualify VSP survey geometries.
Processing of multicomponent and DAS VSP data acquired in marine environment.
Processing of offset, walkaway and 3D VSP’s for various objectives, such as imaging, salt proximity, AVO and anisotropy estimation.
Model calibration with tomography and FWI, preferably using VSP data.
Depth imaging workflows including post imaging conditioning and enhancement.
Proficiency in Petrel and Omega software
Candidates must be able to legally work and reside in the US without sponsorship.
