Description
The Boston Engineering Center at Humana is looking for an exceptional Test Automation Lead with 10 years of professional experience in the software testing field to join our growing cross-functional product development team.
As a Lead Tet Automation Engineer you will work with a multidisciplinary team of business SMEs, UI/UX designers, researchers, full-stack-, data-, and DevOps engineers focused on building high-impact, innovative products aimed at improving the benefit quoting experience for our members and associates.
The team is organized around a product and is empowered to do the job. We follow human-centered design approach and agile development practices. It's a distributed onshore team that operates remotely, working Eastern Standard Time hours.
Our internal stakeholders include insurance product, strategy, customer service, care management, home care, digital health & analytics, and IT.
The ideal candidate for this role has experience with building a test practice from scratch, developing QA processes and procedures, leading and nurturing testing culture, defining and executing on test strategy, but also someone who doesn't shy away from rolling up their sleeves and writing test cases, defining test plans, and otherwise contributing wherever test team needs it.

Responsibilities
This position requires a self-motivated individual with strong software testing and quality assurance fundamentals and prior programming or test automation experience to handle responsibilities which span all phases of development. You will be responsible for defining test strategy, writing test cases and automated tests for multiple products within our portfolio in collaboration with other test engineers
In early development phases, you will be asked to develop an automation test plan in partnership with engineering to cover the new features of our products. As development progresses, you will work closely with engineers and designers to build and run automated test suites and triage the failures. Along the way, you will build knowledge of issues with our products and expand the automation test suites to cover those.
Required Qualifications
8 years of overall professional experience in the software testing / quality assurance field
5 years overall experience in web apps and UI testing (manual & automation)
5 years overall experience in API testing (manual & automation)
Hands-on experience with designing, implementing, and performing tests of software to ensure proper operation and freedom from defects.
Experience with the software development lifecycle processes
Ability to understand business requirements and provide appropriate testing solutions
Experience with mentoring other test engineers
Must be passionate about contributing to an organization focused on continuously improving quality and customer experiences
Ability to prioritize project requests and meet deadlines
Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision
Strong initiative, a good sense of humor, and a 'we'll figure it out together' attitude
Understanding of agile software development principles and how they can be flexibly applied
Outstanding all-round communication skills and ability to work collaboratively

  Experience working on multidisciplinary/balanced product development teams
