****The Department 
This post leads UWL’s Communication and Events team which
plays a central role in delivering on the University’s strategic plan and meeting its marketing and Student recruitment objectives.
The Team is part of the 
Marketing, Recruitment and Communications Department
 which also includes the Communications and Events, Campaigns, Digital and Admissions Teams.  
The Post 
The post holder will lead in the planning, development and implementation of an integrated Communications and Events strategy for the University that will support Marketing and Student Recruitment objectives in addition to the wider University business aims. The post-holder will work with Executive and Senior management and stakeholders to develop communications solutions to meet business needs.  This will include the delivery of effective media and public relations, social media, internal communications and reputational events.  You will be expected to develop and manage a proactive corporate reputation plan that advances the university’s brand story among its target audiences and to devise impactful campaigns that attract and engage target audiences.
The Person 
You will have strong communication and influencing skills with the confidence to operate at all levels of seniority; be able to build consensus and drive projects through to completion.   Excellent writing and media skills are a must and you will be quick to assimilate multiple and complex issues and develop messaging for a range of audiences. Educated to degree level and with an up-to-date understanding of the latest PR and social media developments, the successful candidate will have significant experience of leading large scale strategic Communications  projects and  managing a team.
