Position Summary:
Lead projects with high complexity and support the business through the planning, analysis, design, development, testing and implementation of business requirements for new systems’ needs, and enhancements to existing systems. Must have experience with web crawling/scraping experience.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Includes the following but other duties may be assigned.
Conducts requirements gathering, systems analysis and design for high complexity applications.
Identifies, evaluates, and communicates issues and risks, related to business processes to project, IT and business unit management, developing mitigation strategies in collaboration with business and project team members.
Provides technical expertise to implement and deliver various web and other system projects.
Contributes to the development and continuous review of the existing projects as well as participate in view and scope of future projects.
Engage in all phases of software development life cycle.
Interfaces with program managers and other developers for project-based assignments.
Write automated unit and integration tests.
Continuously enhance and re-factor the codebase.
Maintain a frictionless development environment using Continuous Integration and automation.
Keep up to date with latest tools, technologies, and strategies and help introduce new ideas to the team.
Competencies:
B.S. degree in Computer Science or related field; graduate degree is preferred.
3 years of application development experience.
Expertise in OO practices and test driven development.
Expert level experience in multiple software languages.
Expert level experience in building n-tier web applications.
Significant experience working with very large and complex databases.
Experience with mobile apps is a plus.
Exceptional communication skills.
Solid understanding of caching and queuing systems.
Our environment consists of ASP.NET (4.0), C#, JQuery, JSON, Ajax, Ext JS, WCF, SQL Server, SOA, XML/XSLT/XPATH, BizTalk, and TFS 2010. We practice Scrum. Knowledge of Web service and standards such as XSD Schema, SOAP, WSDL.
XML Knowledge of Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) strategies and integration.
Experience with the following languages is a plus: C/C , Java, Javascript,node.js, jQuery.
Familiarity with web application frameworks.
Must have deep understanding of and experience with high performance/high transaction platforms.
Comfortable to fast changes in product requirements and development environment.
Experience with 3rd party API’s (twitter, facebook, etc.) is a plus.
Education and Experience:
B.S. in Information Systems or similar field of study.
3 years experience working with core technologies listed below.
Knowledge of large scale systems/high volume systems.
Solid Experience in designing and implementing asynchronous, high-performance multi-threaded large scalable systems.
Experience with Open Source frameworks.
