The Senior Systems Engineer is responsible for the deployment and configuration of all VMware and Physical Windows and Linux servers as well vendor supplied Virtual Appliances for the Humana Enterprise. This position also provides second level support for the Virtual and Physical server infrastructure.

Responsibilities

The Senior Systems Engineer deploys and configures servers based on requirements provided by the application teams. This requires managing a project workload to ensure servers are delivered within their SLA. This role also requires testing new operating systems, hardware, and software before they are rolled out to production, second level support of our VMware and Physical server infrastructure, and collaboration with other technical teams within IT to resolve issues. Proficiency with scripting and automation tools. Contributes to department's strategy. Makes decisions on moderately complex to complex issues regarding technical approach for project components, and work is performed without direction.

Required Qualifications


Highly Experienced in Microsoft Windows Server, Red Hat/Oracle Linux, VMware vSphere/ESXi, Cisco UCS and HP server hardware technology
Must be passionate about contributing to an organization focused on continuously improving consumer experiences


Preferred Qualifications


5 - 8 years as a Systems Engineer in a Data Center environment
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience
Automation Experience - Ansible, Puppet, Terraform, PowerShell
Infrastructure Industry related Certification
