Description
Application Developer - Technical Lead
Application Developer - Technical Lead position with Capital One Services II, LLC in Mettawa, Illinois; Multiple positions available:
- Responsible for technical design, development, modification, and implementation of computer applications with responsibility for overall delivery of software applications.
- Manage, coordinate, and lead project teams of up to 12 IT professionals along multiple workstreams.
- Develop applications in an IBM mainframe software development environment using COBOL, CICS, IBM mainframe debugging tools, Syncsort, EZtreive, Abend-aid, Expediter or similar software utility tool.
- Manage the design, coding, testing, implementation, and debugging of programs adhering to corporate requirements and standards.
- Lead medium to large scale projects within the banking application suite of products utilizing knowledge of First Data - Vision Plus applications including CMS, ASM, and SSC experience.
- Perform application testing and validation, programming, and documentation.
- Document design decisions, adhering to existing process guidelines, develop software components, and mentor junior developers.
- Coordinate software system installation and monitor implementation process.
- Present complex IT concepts and project metrics to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Qualifications
This position requires a Bachelor-s or higher degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Computer Information Systems, or a related technical field and 5 years of progressive post-baccalaureate application development experience. In lieu of a Bachelor-s or higher degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Computer Information Systems, or a related technical field and 5 years of progressive post-baccalaureate application development experience will accept a Master-s or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Computer Information Systems, or a related technical field and 2 years of application development experience. Stated or other experience must include 2 years of experience with IBM mainframe software development and First Data - Vision Plus applications including CMS, ASM, and SSC. Must also have the following skills through formal education or work experience: Coordinating work of others along multiple workstreams; presentation of complex IT concepts and project metrics to both technical and non-technical audiences; COBOL; CICS; IBM mainframe debugging tools; Syncsort, EZtreive, Abend-aid, Expediter or similar software utility tool. All stated experience may or may not be acquired concurrently.
