We are looking for a  Software Engineer
 to join our  Auto
Salvage squad
 in  GRM US Claims Technology
. We are also looking for a Software Engineer
to join our Injury Damage
squad in GRM US Claims Technology
If selected, you will have the opportunity to leverage your skills with cloud-based technology to build tools and solutions used to support new and innovative Personal Lines insurance products for the Auto domain.
Auto Salvage squad overview:
The  Auto Salvage squad
 is a crucial part of our overall claims handling experience, as it accounts for 51% of our Personal Insurance business. Seeing approximately 2 million claims each year and thousands of appraisal requests per day, this team is in high demand to drive modernized solutions to build on resilient and stable platforms, to fit the needs of our ever-changing customers.
The salvage experience earns over $1 Billion for Liberty year over year with significant needs for automation. This newly created squad will need to re-imagine our claims handling processes to enable future capabilities on differentiated systems to create a personalized, automated, and touchless experience for our customers. This will provide an unmatched opportunity to work directly with our business partners and consumers to define problems and build solutions from inception to implementation.
Injury Damage squad overview:
As part of our modernizations efforts, the Injury Damage squad
is on a mission to enable future capabilities on differentiated systems to create a personalized, automated, and touchless experience for our customers. New investment and focus for this experience will allow us to build a multitude of new cloud native services, to better support a modernized pipeline by transitioning off pieces of our legacy stack and reducing technical debt. As the need for capability-driven strategies increase, the focus for providing a fully automated, touchless claims handling experience is our top priority. This will provide an exceptional opportunity to work with an agile squad to unify a product vision, identify future enabling capabilities, and articulate a robust architectural roadmap to get us there.
Although the Casualty/Medical line of business constitutes the smallest percentage of volume within the Claims organization, injury claims are one of the most sensitive customer touchpoints we have. In Claims Technology, it is our commitment and opportunity to build flexible systems and applications to better serve our adjusters and improve our medical claims processes

: Going far beyond simply developing error-free source code, test scripts, components, and system architectures, you'll document and build deployment guides aimed at maintaining robust, relevant software

: Exercise your technical chops while coaching and collaborating with junior software engineers

A Bachelor's or Master's degree in a technical or business discipline, or equivalent experience 
Strong familiarity with Java, Spring, RESTful services, Git, Jenkins, Bamboo
Nice to haves: AWS, Kafka, Kubernetes, React and/or Angular, relational databases, NOSQL/nonrelational databases, and ETL
3 years of professional tech experience
Excellent negotiation, facilitation, and consensus-building capabilities 
Openness and adaptability to respond to fast-moving circumstances 
Knowledge of and ability to personally demonstrate and utilize many of the techniques, processes and tools that drive inclusion and engagement of all employees with a wide variety of backgrounds and perspectives  
Experience working in an agile environment 
Experience with  CI/CD practices & Dev Ops Principles
Experience with modern Full-Stack Engineering  
Hands-on involvement with layered systems architectures, designs, and shared software concepts  
Familiarity with functional and system integration testing 
Familiarity of diverse and emerging technologies, architectural concepts, and principles 
Awareness of policies regarding security and privacy 
Understanding of backlog tracking, burndown metrics and incremental delivery
