Description
The Cloud Security Engineer 2 is responsible for the build, deployment and maintenance of multi-cloud security controls and engineering cloud resource security posture and implementation of cloud based controls and systems. This role will initially be focused on AWS. The Cloud Security Engineer 2 work assignments are varied and frequently require interpretation and independent determination of the appropriate courses of action.
Responsibilities
The AWS Cloud Security Engineer 2 ensures cyber security controls are engineered and deployed to cloud environments and they meet compliance requirements. They automate cloud security controls to ensure threat, vulnerabilities and risk are minimized. This role is initially focused on AWS but will expand into other Humana cloud environments. The CSE2 ensures cross functional business processes are in place for cloud security control engineering and implementation with proper visibility and approvals. They understand department and organizational strategy and operating objectives, including their linkage to related areas. They make decisions regarding their own work methods, occasionally in ambiguous situations, and require minimal direction, seeking guidance where needed. They follow established guidelines/procedures.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field
2 years of software development experience designing and developing effective solutions
Experience working in AWS. Familiarity with AWS services such as IAM, S3, KMS, Security Groups and NACLs, AWS Config, EBS Volumes. Elastic IP.
A solid foundation in Windows and Linux operating systems with a good understanding of the following programming languages and experience with any two: Python, Javascript, PowerShell, .net, C# and Go
Modern software development experience including secure design, development, QA and deployment - embracing agile development methodologies
Ability to communicate effectively and build working relationships across the organization
Must be passionate about contributing to an organization focused on continuously improving customer experiences
Preferred Qualifications
Master's degree in Computer Science or related field
Cloud application development experience
Applied knowledge of healthcare industry
Solid grasp of JSON, YAML, API Management, database technologies (SQL, NOSQL), infrastructure-as-code tools like Terraform, Ansible, CloudFormation, Azure ARM.
Proficiency in container technology and experience in deploying containers in any of the following: Docker, PCF, Kubernetes
Security engineering experience (especially in AWS), advanced knowledge of security capabilities and constraints related to deploying cloud native and multi cloud applications and infrastructure
