About the Team:

The IT Operations Landscape Management team is global with staff operating from three main IT Hubs (Bangalore, Europe, Houston TX). Business scope for this role includes Trading & Supply and Manufacturing IT systems. The UK team consists of operations staff based in London working together with application specialists in the areas of ETRM, Reporting Systems, Integration technologies, Fuel Distribution and Loading systems.

What will you do?

As a Landscape Manager, you will be accountable for business-critical applications and IT Services that support key business processes. This role ensures applications and services remain available 24x7, are delivered in a secure manner, are assessed and actively managed for systemic risks and oversight on any changes to in-scope landscapes. In addition, you’ll be expected to lead recovery efforts during unplanned outages working closely with Shell’s suppliers.

This is an excellent opportunity for candidates looking to expand their technical knowledge in Trading and Integration systems and focus on market standard and Cloud services, the successful candidate will help build and support systems for the future. Here are some of the other things you'll do in this role:


The ideal candidate will be knowledgeable in Cloud Technologies (Azure/AWS), Integration Technologies (eg Biztalk, Control-M, Tibco). Experience of application hosting would be desirable (eg IIS , JBoss).
The fundamental activity of the role will be (not limited to):
Communicate with senior IT leaders on Major Incidents.
Provide risk assurance for critical applications with the aim of reducing unplanned downtime and maintaining availability and working with application owners on investment planning.
The Landscape Manager has oversight of all changes within the landscape with the authority to deny changes deemed a risk.
In collaboration with Portfolio Managers and Architects, develop long-term strategic road-maps.
Decision authority during Major Incidents, expected to manage various suppliers during incidents and prepare root-cause analysis reports and remediation plans.
Participation in an On-Call rota maybe necessary.

Candidates should be highly skilled in Business Analysis, Problem Solving, IT Service Management & Integration and knowledgeable in Business Partnering.

You'll also:


Have demonstratable hands-on IT Operations experience.
Be the confident, self-motivated and resilient type. You'll be a brilliant communicator and enjoy collaborating and influencing individuals and teams at all levels.
Build effective relationships across the business and our shared service IT teams and suppliers.
You’ll have proven experience in analysing complex issues understanding business impact, managing your demanding workload effectively in a constantly changing and pressured environment whilst ensuring deadlines are met.
