Job Overview
My client, a medical device multinational is looking for a Senior R&D Engineer to join their team in Waterford.
In this role, you will be responsible for leading the development of new products and improving existing ones and lead a multi-functional international team through the new product introduction process taking projects from concept to product launch.
You will ideally have 3-5 years in a med device, manufacturing, electrical or pharma setting.

Key Responsibilities include:
Manages compliance of team members to complete assigned tasks and responsibilities, including design control, speed to market expectations, PDP process, project schedules, budgets, CERs etc
Initiates and maintains all project management documentation and plans this includes ensuring project milestones are met, global implementation and ongoing management of the manufacturing strategy is generated and followed.
Leads the Design and conduct experiments to evaluate the performance of contact lenses, including material properties, optical and mechanical properties, and wearability.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in materials science, chemical engineering, biomedical engineering, physics, Computer science or related field; master's degree or PhD an advantage.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in research and development of medical devices or related products.
Knowledge of materials science, polymer chemistry, and optics an advantage.
Experience with experimental design and statistical analysis.
Familiarity with FDA regulations and ISO standards related to medical device development.
