Deputy General Counsel- Major Accounts & Financial Lines
Duties: Manage an experienced and dedicated team of legal professionals and attorneys that supports a wide array of insurance business units in the underwriting and sale of a broad range of insurance products. Provide strategic vision and tactical guidance for development and implementation of organizational performance and cultural objectives, including implementation of workflow management tools, data metrics reporting, and automation. Provide day-to-day operational guidance, consultation and counsel on important business, regulatory and legal issues to team members, senior business leaders and other parts of the Office of General Counsel. Facilitate coordination and collaboration within the Office of General Counsel and the larger Chubb organization. Develop and maintain strong relationships with senior legal and business leaders by communicating effectively and frequently. Serve as the “go-to” resource for legal support of business activities and objectives for supported areas. Provide oversight of legal team business unit support activities including drafting, review and negotiation of policies, endorsements, contracts, confidentiality agreements, warranties, marketing materials, and other ancillary documents, associated with insurance policies. Work collaboratively with the legal team, the Office of General Counsel, and with Chubb business underwriting units, to evaluate, understand, and address, insurance and regulatory risks for various lines of insurance business. Actively and frequently participate in underwriting meetings, broker meetings, staff meetings, and other key business unit and Office of General Counsel activities. Review and interpret applicable laws and regulations, legislative developments, case decisions, and claims verdicts, to provide comprehensive legal advice and technical training on such matters. Assist in developing and amending business practices and products where needed to ensure compliance.
