Description
The Lead Enterprise Architect translates business needs into technical systems solutions and architectural roadmaps. The Lead Enterprise Architect works on problems of diverse scope and complexity ranging from moderate to substantial.
Responsibilities
The Lead Enterprise Architect translates business needs into technical strategies, systems solutions and architectural roadmaps. The Lead Enterprise Architect provides strategic advice and guidance to functional team(s). Highly skilled with broad, advanced technical experience especially related to data strategies and standard data architectures.
The Lead Enterprise Architect will play a key role in implementing and enforcing Humana's Data Strategy as well as providing tactical architecture direction to ensure the enterprise can achieve the strategy. The Lead Enterprise Architect will work with segments to ensure the various architectural data standards, usage and ownership are adhered to. This role serves as a thought leader to challenge/influence engineering teams to rethink routine and drive adoption of standard data patterns. This role will also apply enterprise architecture governance over solutions that provide data related technical capabilities.
Responsibilities:
Work with various stakeholders to build an enterprise alignment around data architecture terminology, standards, usage and ownership
Facilitate the creation of clear, concise and easy to access data architecture standards to provide engineering teams with tactical direction for achieving the enterprise data strategy. Clearly communicate the value associated with adhering to the data strategy and corresponding data architecture standards.
Create visibility and build awareness of the gap between current state data architecture versus future state data architecture and ensure gaps are being filled
Ensure seamless governance is applied to engineering teams who are building technology capabilities related to data access, transmission, persistence, caching, analysis, reporting and insights
Required Qualifications:
Strategic thinking abilities and an enterprise-wide perspective
Experience providing guidance and defining strategy for how companies should deal with data
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related relevant experience
5 years of experience architecting enterprise technology solutions
Ability to partner within and across teams to gain consensus and enable change
Ability to influence stakeholders
Ability to identify and drive tasks to completion
Data Platform design and evolution, data modeling, data analysis and reporting, and distributed systems
Strong communication skills for creating and sharing presentations to multiple levels of audiences of stakeholders - i.e. senior executives in business and IT, architects, developers, etc.

Preferred Qualifications:
Negotiation and mediation skills
Healthcare experience
Master's degree in Computer Science or Software Engineering (or equivalent)
