Job Overview
My client is currently recruiting for a Systems and Packaging Project Manager
to join their manufacturing company in Co. Kildare
Duties and Responsibilities:
Manages projects to a high standard by completing all required documentation and maintaining up to date and accurate reports.
A packaging project may include all steps from packaging design and sourcing to industrial execution ensuring structural performance, quality, cost improvements, food safety and complexity management.
Leads projects to support new product launches and continuous improvements in line with the requirements and guidelines related to Innovation, Cost & Sustainability, Product Improvement, Research & Development, Supply Chain.
Actively supports (sponsor or lead) all packaging related NPD projects from the start of the brief to the final review within our stage gate process (NECTAR) by working closely with S&I Project Managers to identify specification required for new packaging products in response to briefs.
Supports Operations for implementation of new packaging and other sustainability efforts.
Ensures compatibility of packaging components with existing and future plant equipment.
Works with cross-functional departments to drive the execution of the packaging productivity initiatives to achieve targeted annual savings including continuous monitoring for cost saving and weight reduction opportunities.
Experience and qualifications required;
Degree in Food Science or equivalent related field.
Excellent project management skills with ability to prioritise multiple activities simultaneously.
Troubleshooting skills are key to this role and will be called upon both to support our Customers and to help drive efficiency within our own innovation process.
Minimum of 2 years of packaging or material related technical experience will be of benefit, ideally in a food manufacturing environment or similar.
Good working knowledge using IT systems including Microsoft Office.
Understanding of Food Safety & Quality Management systems.
Basic ability to analyse and interpret data.
