CBRE Global Cyber Security Office – The Global CSO’s mission is to mitigate cyber security risk by actively working with the CBRE business, Digital & Technology and other partner organizations (Compliance, Risk Mgmt., Audit, & Legal) to seamlessly integrate security processes, tools, and people into the business culture providing a holistic security ecosystem, driving continuous improvements and seamless protection / monitoring capabilities globally.
We are working to build a progressive development team with a mindset toward being agile and solving problems iteratively. Being in a senior position at the start of this team, we would want you to help shape the direction of the team moving forward.
You do not have to have experience in all of the specific technical skills listed to be qualified for the position. If you have years’ worth of relevant similar experience, we still want to talk to you.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide leadership direction, and subject matter expertise on aspects of backend software development from design concepts through to production deployment as well as DevOps and CICD automation
Actively participate in strategic discussions with other technology leaders
Stay up to date on new tools & techniques, and act as a driver of innovation within the project
Providing software team leadership to both local, and offshore developers
Collaborate with internal security team members, to further the DevSecOps team goals of outreach, and simplification of interaction with business development teams
Have well founded opinions and be willing to express your disagreement when something doesn't pass the ‘smell test’ for you
Interact with multiple stakeholders throughout GCSO to understand, and coordinate project requirements
Oversee the delivery of solutions for requirements based on product roadmaps
Be able to drive productivity through a positive and encouraging mindset
Education & Qualifications
Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) in a related field such as information systems, mathematics, or computer science or equivalent work experience. Requires technical and business knowledge in multiple disciplines/processes. Typically has 10 years of relevant work experience. Consideration given to equivalent combination of education and experience.
Required Knowledge and Skills:
5-7 yrs. of experience or equivalent skills in backend development, and automation
Must possess a solid understanding of CICD concepts, and infrastructure as code
3-4 yrs. of experience acting in a software development or DevOps manager role
Thorough understanding of unit, functional, integration testing, and smoke testing
Experience working with disparate systems via APIs
Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) in a related field of work or equivalent work experience.
Desirable Knowledge and Skills:
Understanding of microservice concepts
Understanding or experience with *Ops(GitOps, ChatOps, etc…)
Ruby, Go, Terraform, and Packer
Open source community contributor
