Job Details:
Summary: The Associate Manager Cost Optimization will be responsible for executing cost optimization opportunities in Prepared Foods with primary focus on Retail BU categories. Through close collaboration with R D Plants Supply Chain and Finance this role will develop scope schedule and savings value and liaise with business teams to obtain alignment and drive execution. Responsibilities will include managing Retail Prepared cost savings intake approach and aligning on priorities with Brand Management partners. As Associate Manager Cost Optimization this role is the end-to-end owner of assigned projects including gate reviews scope development P L execution capital requests on time execution and savings capture. Additionally, this role will partner with Network Strategy on operations network assessments and associated optimization opportunities to drive game changing process improvements and cost savings execution. In support of Sr Manager Cost Optimization this position will support development of the pipeline of cost savings projects that will deliver 3-year SP and AOP targets as well as opportunities for efficiency through sku optimization rationalization. This position will collaborate cross functionally across the enterprise and the ideal candidate will have sound knowledge of operations network coupled with a keen ability to influence functional teams and varying levels within the organization.
Responsibilities:
Under the supervision of the direct supervisor own and lead Retail Prepared cost optimization projects. Working with cross functional team members develops business case brief and financial justification P L for cost savings project opportunities.
Presents through project governance approval with Retail leadership for approval alignment and prioritization.
Project lead and owner who will set strategic direction and own decision rights on projects with close collaboration with BU P L owner.
Collaborate with Engineering and Finance to initiate track and execute CIRs with required signatories.
Support monthly BU Best Cost tracking sessions to ensure planned savings is actualized - escalate for issue resolution decision needed.
Typical workload will be 25-30 cost savings projects.
Support long range strategies for large scale cost optimization pursuits and ensure appropriate coordination and work management to execute on time.
Collaboration with Process Engineering on technology scalability that will contemporize our manufacturing processes and drive savings optimizations.
Liaison between BU and R D resources with Network Strategy and Co-Man to evaluate current network contract terms and build long range plans for large scale project implementations including process changes line and plant network changes.
Support Best Cost savings targets and support building a pipeline of cost savings that will deliver targets over the 3-year SP in conjunction with R D Operations Cost Savings Strategy and Finance.
Supports cost savings ideation sessions to brainstorm opportunities to drive out costs.
Support BU portfolio sku assessment and evaluate opportunities to drive out costs through sku optimization and rationalization. Key contacts: BU Plants Engineering R D Supply Chain PMO Co-Man Tech Services.
