Job Title:
Solution Architect - Real Estate
No. of Positions:
1
Job Description:
If you’re looking for the perfect opportunity to grow your IT leadership skills, we have the role for you. Bring us your expertise in solution architecture, IoT and smart tooling and we’ll give you every chance to develop your career within a supportive, global company.
Where you fit
You’re going to be part of our global real estate business, working as a Solution Architect. As such, you’ll be part of a global programme, that aims to introduce smart and digital tooling and solutions into Shell’s offices and assets around the globe. Ultimately, this brings the experience of our employees and visitors to the next level.
This is both a challenging and rewarding role, where you’ll be helping to develop high-level designs that assure technical integrity and a measurable impact, driving performance and profitability, all the while meeting Shell’s IT strategic objectives.
What’s the role?
Your primary aim will be to provide development, consultancy and technical expertise across all architecture aspects of an IT Project. In practice, that means making sure applications are well designed and conform to Shell’s high standards and guidelines. Interestingly, with smart and digital tooling being one of the main focus areas, you are assured of working on and implementing innovative and forward-thinking solutions.
Working with the relevant project managers and product owners responsible for solution development, you’ll work through the whole life cycle of development, until the solution is successfully launched. Results-focussed, you’ll thrive keeping up to date with IT technology developments in the market, using this knowledge to ensure our solutions are ‘future-proof’.
More specific responsibilities will include:
Addressing business process, data, application, technical and information security aspects of an IT solution.
Ensuring solution architecture is documented and conforms to standards.
Coaching designers and business analysts and reviewing the detailed design of an IT solution.
Your excellent people skills will be vital here, as you position yourself as a go-to ambassador for architecture, enthusiastically nurturing and contributing to a successful architecture community, and communicating effectively with a range of stakeholders on architecture issues and improvements.
