Regulatory Compliance Director & Privacy Officer
Duties: Plans, organizes and provides regional oversight and accountability for Corporate Compliance activities for assigned region. Acts as Compliance point person for assigned sites. Participates in facility-level Compliance decisions as well as oversight for hospital or other business unit of Compliance. Ensures decisions support clinical, financial and operational goals of individual sites. Collaborates with Regional Executive leadership and medical staff to promote Compliance through effective communication strategies and dissemination of successes achieved. Supports hospital executive and clinical leadership to ensure Compliance goals support and align with hospital clinical, financial, and operational goals. Advises Region’s employees, contractors and vendors as appropriate, agents on issues of regulatory compliance. Maintains the Region’s compliance program structure to reasonably ensure adherence to applicable federal and state rules and regulations. Participates in developing and implementing internal controls capable of preventing and detecting significant instances or patterns of illegal, unethical, or improper conduct. Identifies opportunities to optimize Compliance related workflows, improve performance and outcomes and lead efforts to achieve clinical, financial and operational improvements. Collaborates with site and corporate Quality management and Human Resources to promote Quality and Compliance. Participates in enterprise design activities and collaborates with Deputy Chief Corporate Compliance Officer and the Chief Corporate Compliance Officer to advocate for process improvements. Supports Corporate Compliance projects. Develops, manages and evaluates direct reports and oversees the development, management and evaluation of indirect reports. Oversees applicable Regional compliance committees. Oversees the Compliance investigation process within the Region: Promptly and efficiently investigates and responds to issues raised (including reports of non-compliance) through the Compliance Helpline and other reporting channels and as a result of Compliance audits. Ensures proper documentation of issues raised, investigations conducted and corrective actions taken in response to compliance issues. In conjunction with management, Legal Counsel and Human Resources, provides input on the handling of such violations. Serves as a resource to ensure mandatory topics compliance training and other applicable compliance initiatives are timely completed in the Region. Participates in the periodic compliance self-assessments, as needed.
